What is it “via our component update system” on Windows OS?
URL under "release notes" link contains an extra "v" letter at the end. Ctrl-V, V? :)
Yah the "release notes page." link ain't working. Gotta remove the "v" at the end of the link.
How do you update then ?
So ... how do we install manually, for machines with no internet connection or whose auto-update function is glitching?
What about Linux?

were is the update ??? i don't have it yet and i'm tired of having to go to the desktop of windows 8 to play flash videos. this is just as bad as IE know.
Ever since the update yesterday I can no longer view anything that uses the flash plugin in the windows 8 app. It is incredibly annoying to switch to desktop mode and almost every page has flash supported content. Essentially chrome is useless after this update. Please fix this
were is my update? i still am reporting the old flash version when i go to test flash. and i have to go to the desktop every single time to play flash video. What did you break and why please send me a update and i hope it fixes it.
12:54 here and on wed and still not a single update to google chrome flash player??? i thought you were sending it out.
i had to go to t he beta version just to fix this issue of not getting the update. and to fix the always dropping to desktop issue on windows 8.
what is going on? flash no longer plays on google chrome metro only on desktop. so frustrating. fix this please.
Porque Adobe Flash no esta funcionando bien desde 09/09/13?. Tengo la versión actual pero no funciona bien en Google Chrome modo Windows 8. Ya me canse de ver los videos en Modo escritorio!;¿Que esta pasando con Chrome? Hagan algo! Arreglenlo!
RE GeorgiaK back up your profile and stuff and move over to the beta build. it fully works there with know issues. Is what i did i might just stay on this build it seams to work better, for now.
As of approximately 7:30 PM Pacific Time on September 12, my version of Flash Player for Chrome was still at 11,8, 800,97.I assume that normally Google has the newest Pepper Flash Player ready by the time Adobe releases the newest version of Flash Player for other browsers but with this update somebody at Google dropped the ball, big time. I dare say people should get fired for this.
What on earth has happened to Chrome. The most reliable browser around seems to be falling apart.I've just done a clean re-install thinking it must be a problem at my end. A new download has installed Flash 11.8.800.97!!!Add this to frequent freezes of my entire machine for up to 30 seconds when loading pages and Chrome stopping my task bar from showing and it means Chrome is becoming unusable. This is with Windows 8 by the way.
I'm still running the older version of flash. When is the update being pushed out? All other browsers have the latest version.
maybe it's better to remove the flash component completely from chrome and let adobe handle the update of the plugin.since month google is not able to distribute new flash updates in a timely manner.if you want an up to date flash plugin chrome is not that what you need.
Anthony LaForge,Are you trying to avoid this issue? Pretend that you have not failed for some reason? It is 3:33 pm in Taipei on Saturday 9/14 (3:33 am EDT on Sat morning in US). My Flash plugin says: Adobe Flash Player - Version: 11,8,800,97Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800) You said at 10:45 am on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2013: "We are updating Flash Player to version 11.8.800.170 on Windows and Mac via our component update system (i.e. there will not be a Chrome update)."OK, where is it? Anthony, it is time for you to "man up" and respond to us.Thanks,Jerry

My antivirus doesn't allow to open Chrome because of an outdated Flash version... If I install Chrome from scratch it install an outdated Flash version... What the heck is happening with this Flash update? I need to disable antivirus to use Chrome!!!
This is the first time I post anything here on this blog. And it saddens me that my first post is to say that I am extremely disappointed in both Google's team & Adobe's team. Seriously this is supposed to be the Stable release of both Chrome (Ver. 29.0.1547.66) & Pepper-based Flash Player (Ver. 11.8.800.170) and yet what we have is an unstable & buggy browser, on top of that we get to use an outdated version of flash just because... I really don't know how this gets past "Beta".
Just wanted to add my voice to the others as this has been a frustrating experience. Announcing a Flash Update and then almost one week later it hasn't been delivered is quite upsetting. If there were security issues you basically are letting all the hackers know that Chrome is vulnerable through that component. A one or two day delay would be fine, but this long is just not right. In researching the issue, I stumbled across some interesting information, so hopefully in the future the problem we are now experiencing will be a mute point.http://www.ghacks.net/2013/09/07/list-component-versions-perform-update-checks-google-chrome/
Oh, look--one week from the release of 11.8.800.170 and I'm STILL stuck with an OUTDATED version of Flash: 11.8.800.97. Time to let us update out own plugins, Google.
I found some info on this update stuff. It's a bit to read but maybe some of the answers can be found there. They kinda broke it up into operating systems and such. I guess some will be automatic and some systems won't. Still not sure if I understand it all, but here's the link if you're interested. Good Luck :D-Ms.Khttp://www.pcworld.com/article/2048550/adobe-issues-critical-security-updates-for-flash-player-reader-and-shockwave-player.html
@Winney,That article tells us nothing we don't already know. Did you read the post and the following comments? We are still waiting for the supposed update for the Adobe Flash Player plugin (from 11.8.800.97 to 11.8.800.170), which Google has still FAILED to update. Thanks,Jerry
