This update (from dev 20.x) caused my CR-48 to keep flashing the Chrome icon launch screen over and over. Doing recovery now. D'oh.
Same flashing splash screen. I don't even know how to recover. I guess that's what google is for... searching for answers to all my technical problems.
My samsung has a flashing screen with this update.
Confirm the flashing screen on update on Cr-48
Yup, Killed it for me too.Had to restore, although I think it's already updated to it again.Hmmmmm. Lets not turn the Chromebook off for a while then....
Restore works great - for newbies here's a link: http://support.google.com/chromeos/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1080595After restore to stable release, changing to Dev / getting the updates to v.21 worked just fine.
After restore and reboot, the problems gone.
It's killed here too.I mind now changing to beta channel if this channel is too buggy for chromebooks.
Weird. I read up on all my recovery instructions, and was about to start the process. But when I turned it on again, it booted to the login screen!! This is like 4 hours later, and I just had the machine closed and put away.
My CR-48 doesn't recognize that there's an update yet...
same here mines won't recognize that there is an update.
They probably pulled the update if the above problems were widespread...
@jamie: same happend here. Maybe a silent quickfix?
Just a reminder to new folks - the dev channel is always going to be buggy - it's a staging area. You'll get all the latest amazing features but you're also bound to get a bug from time to time. If you need a system that works every time, stick to stable. That said, the system restore (linked above) works GREAT. I've used this a few times over the past year for various reasons. Once you've tried it, and you are confident with the process - and it is an easy process - you'll be comfortable switching to dev if that works for you.
