After updating my Chromebook (I'm on the Dev channel) to 18.0.1010.2, I cannot sign in using variations on my username as I could before while having 'Restrict sign to the users below' checked. If I use anything other than the defualt lower-case version of my username it will say I don't have permission to sign in, even though this previously worked just fine.
You forgot this issue (related to three-finger click behaving like two-finger click):http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=25310
3 finger click is gone again. Weak.
+dub Yeah, already took care of that with the comment above yours... Apparently, three-finger click behaves like two-finger click (though two-finger click still works for me).
after today's update, I seem to have lost two-finger scrolling?
I can confirm scrolling is gone.
Yep, two-finger scrolling is definitely gone. I'm hoping for a fast update as that's a big deal in my use of the machine.
Well, scrolling isn't gone for me (at least on my Acer AC700). It might just be Samsung S5/Cr-48 users...
Scrolling is OK at my Samsung S5
Okay, well then two-finger scrolling is probably just a Cr-48 issue...
Two finger scrolling is gone on my Cr-48 also. Two finger tap works
Two finger scrolling works for me. Great update! A lot faster I've noticed compared to Chrome 17.
Has anybody noticed that Caps Lock is now Shift-Search (an improvement over Shift-Shift)? I sure have.
was the download pulled because it was so buggy? or what because it doesnt show that theres a new update so im still stuck in 17
No, new releases never get pulled. If you're having problems updating, keep clicking that "Check for update" button (you're on the Dev channel, right? If not, click "More Info" on the About page and set the "Channel" menu to Dev) until it forces an update. Works like a charm for me.
I'll have to disagree with you on that, i am aware of at least one time, a long time ago, that the update was pulled and some people didnt get one until the fixed everything and released the one after, it was probably an obscure instance, but nevertheless it happened (i forget when but im 99% sure it did). I am aware of spamming the check for update button and it hasnt worked this time. I am on the dev channel, last night i switched over to beta because it had a higher version than my dev did, instantly got an update from beta, then switched back to dev and nothing. Now after i had shut down for the night, i've gotten back on made sure i was on dev, spammed the button, and still nothing. so im not sure what the problem is. its been 2 days since they put it out so i would have thought everyone who turned on their computer would have gotten it by now.
Yes, but that is a rare, rare occurrence. What Chromebook do you have? It seems to still be installed for me on my Acer AC700 (though unless there is a newer update the current update won't be uninstalled). Of course, it might be a good idea to plug a USB drive in and head over to chrome://imageburner to test it out...
I think this update got pulled or is not being delivered to all machines. My Cr-48 was not updating and was stuck on 17, so I restored it to a clean image and then switched to dev channel and updated to 17.0.963.27 again, not 18.0.1010.2 and I keep hitting "Check Update" to no avail.
That is interesting, might be the cr-48 because that is what I have also.
