I liked the NTP Bookmarks pane, how it looked and whatnot -- but it was poorly executed. Not all bookmarks were shown, so it required lots of clicking around (more than usual), all those white boxes, and the hard to find way of going "up" a folder.IE9's new tab page is nice in terms of looks and design. Why not copy it for bookmarks? But please show all bookmarks.
Nice, I wish every blog post was this detailed.
Ok this is absurd. Yes the new bookmark bar was terrible and so is the new tab page. Bring back the recent history links. Good idea, terrible execution. The most useful information always needs to be on the first page including recent history and previously closed tabs. Best feature when opening chrome was to reopen everything you closed before (multiple tabs) and anything that you had perviously been on without having to click anything else. Now you need to click another button just to see the list. One click is better than multiple. Revert everything
I used the previously closed tabs quite a lot actually. Will revert to stable Chrome to continue doing so for a while. However I think you are heading the right way. The previous New Tab page in beta was too compact. Also the New Tab page fits better with themes than the previous one imho.
Since last night (this update) search results in Google cannot be opened in a new window when instant is turned off in search settings. If instant is turned on search results do open in a new window. Problem does not occur in IE 8 or IE 9 or Firefox.I tested it with Windows XP.
I used the Bookmarks Pane a lot while it was out, and would like to re-enable it, can we have it back please?
can there be an option to close down everything on the new tab page like before please ? it's less distracting to work when tumblr/lj/app games aren't seductively splashed all over the screen ^^ thank you
