This update (41.0.2272.76) appears to have broken Inbox by Gmail for me. New emails display correct and can be read, etc. But the entire Inbox menu bar is broken: the three-bar icon, search, show pinned items icon - all are totally non-responsive. A nearly identical computer running the previous stable Chrome (40.0.2214.115) with the same Gmail account is all fine. Anyone else with this issue?

Inbox appears to be working fine on my device (HP Chromebox).

I have noticed that, on my HP Chromebox, signing in takes significantly longer. I'm using the Smart Lock feature with my Galaxy S5 as the trusted device. Prior to this update, I would click my profile photo, and my preset tab would be loaded and ready to go within 2-3 seconds. Now, it takes 3-4 seconds just to sign in and then the screen goes dark for another 1-2 seconds (it never did that before), and then it takes 2-3 seconds to load my preset tab (Google Drive).

I have an Acer CB15, but after the update the trackpad is not as responsive as before. It is slower as previously.

HP Chromebook 11 G1 ARMv7.

Some devices have been updated to the new freon graphics stack, which will provide performance improvements down the line.

So for my device?
I notice a slight color shift (true colors) video. Also video slightly less sharp.
Argg!

The Chrome OS 41 BETA received support of audio headsets. Did this support make it into the final/stable version today? It was not mentioned in your blog post.

Thanks.

Acer C720

After the update there's a continuous White Noise Static sound that comes and goes every minute, at first I though it was my headphones but it also sounds through the speakers

Apparently, going to chrome://flags and clicking "Reset All to Default" fixes this sign-in lag issue.

still having wifi issues on samsung chromebook. This is getting ridiculous this issue still hasn't been fixed. It is not my wifi as all other devices work fine only chromebook keeps losing connection at times.

I am on os 10.2.2 and chrome continuously crashes after about 10 minutes of use, any ideas what could be wrong?

JoeE said...

cvos, this post is about Chrome OS. If you're using OS 10.2.2 you need the latest post for Chrome, not Chrome OS.

It's disappointing to find that Hangouts Remote Desktop has been discontinued and that we now have to use Chrome Remote Desktop. Not nearly as efficient for my enterprise. I had to use Join.me instead of hangouts today to offer support.

Gmail broken, inline HMTL script generation is quirky and breaks pages frequently. Font rendering has gone really bad and hard to read. Ya'll really ought to consider rolling this one back.

Acer C720 here. I find that Youtube.com freezes for about a minute before letting me interact with the site. I am not sure if this is a youtube thing, I suspect that it is the latest update to chrome OS.
