The current version does not have aura suffixed to it like the earlier ones, ex- 32.0.1700.41 m Aura
Does this have any significance?

Karen said...

nope, no significance :)

I lost lateral scrolling, which makes it impossible to see the far right of webpages when I split the screen. Please help!

can you please make sure to open a bug so we can collect information about your OS and try to reproduce the problem?

Why a stable channel has been updated to this version?

yolarrydabomb said...

Anyway to put the scroll arrows back on chrome?

Daniel Durocher said...

The scroll (using the touchpad) is now INSANELY over-sensitive! Is there a way to reduce it's speed so it's the same as all other versions before?

Loi said...

Did stable channel just got updated with this?!

Eric said...

Like some others have mentioned, I too am using the stable channel, but when I check the version number, it is the same as that for the beta shown in this blog post.

The scroll arrows disappeared which seems to have coincided with the breaking of my ThinkPad's ability to scroll in Chrome using the TrackPoint button (the little red nub in the middle of the keyboard on ThinkPads).

NullifiedKnight said...

Definitely need the scrollbar arrows back. It may be breaking things for some people, but personally, I just find it off-putting.

Davide Stefanini said...

I received this update on the stable channel too.

Someone messed up big time... I'm using the stable release channel too, and got the 32 also, with an "m" ending, so it is "stable" - "32.0.1700.72 (Oficjalna wersja 243157) m". I hope this is not a sigificant error and in the future we will still be getting stable releases...

honsq90 said...

I'm also having issues with super drag, rocker gestures and mouse gestures in Pig Toolbox as well.

My Thinkpad Trackpoint scroll isn't working with the latest update of chrome, and this is a pressing issue for me as a Trackpoint is my only pointing device. You dun goof'd!

I use dev and stable channels on various devices. I too can confirm that my stable channel instance of Chrome has been updated to "Version 32.0.1700.72 m".

This morning I noticed some changes to Chrome and I knew another update was done.

Problem is all streaming content (including flash ads) is lagging and processor usage is on 100%.

What can I do?

Hans-Joachim Bolle said...

Confirmed: also my stable branch updated to this version as well as for other people I know

Al said...

bring back the scrollbar!!!

Vertical and horizontal scrolling stopped working, using laptop with pointstick and scroll button. Very inconvenient and frustrating.

We are seeing our deployed Chrome for Business auto-update to this Beta version, and it is breaking an enterprise application. Google seems to have accidentally released the Beta version into the Stable channel.

Vin said...

Have stable version on a virtual with Win 7 & it has not be updated with the beta, so wondering if this has happened for any specific OS...

Tee Cabb said...

Bring back scrollbar arrows and revert changes made to dropboxes.

Pierre-Luc Gingras said...

I' a little worried to see people having troubles with compatibily, as Chrome 32 seems to break some business homemade application like we have here. I also been auto-updated to the beta channel and others employees are still working with chrome 31... this is pretty hard to deal with.

Karen said...

A small number of stable channel Windows users have been updated to stable channel 32, and we expect to continue rolling out the update next week.
If you haven't received the update, yet, don't worry about that either :)

If you're seeing bugs, please file a bug. We won't be able to identify the issue, reproduce it, and fix unless you file a bug.

Robert Lindabury said...

I'm on the stable channel as well and received this beta update.

I've noticed several changes.

1. Scrollbars look completely different; no arrows, narrower, more simple looking

2. Input boxes are showing a 2px inner border on the top

3. Standard input type=button buttons look flat with no mouse-over behavior (#cccccc background, 1px #dddddd border, black text -my guess at colors)

I haven't checked other items but this is somewhat distressing if it's being sent out to stable channel users all over.

Having issues with silverlight programs in this update.

Alexis Kalaitzakis said...

thinkpad trackpoint scrolling does not work. when you press the middle button the pointer changes to the expected (scrolling) icon but scrolling is not possible. you cannot move up or down the page unless you go to the scrollbar and move it or press the arrows keys.
os: win xp sp3

Do you have any idea why this unexpected update to the stable channel happened?

askey said...

im using hammerJS for swipe events which are now not working properly. furthermore my css3 animations are really screwed (laggy and problems with overlaying divs). this is definitely not a stable release

30+ staff in our company unable to work due to loss of scroll arrows, and other issues with our own piece of software.. one way to drive people back to firefox :( please fix this stuff.. will be reviewing all issues and raising bugs a Karen suggested but still disappointing to have such seemingly a failure of a new version being put out randomly

Abdulhalim Bambang said...

My stable chrome got updated to beta as well. The beta version has issues for the scrolling. The scrolling has a significant notice of lag.

I was able to revert back to stable 31 by downloading the file from filehippo. Unfortunately it will reset your chrome back to default and you have to reinstall all your chrome extensions/apps.

I'm on Windows 8.1.

Tom Wiltzius said...

@Abdulhalim, can you elaborate on the scrolling lag? Is the framerate low (choppy animation), or is input latency higher than normal (delay between trying to scroll and it actually happening)?

Unknown said...

OK Google, so you have made a mistake, and some users got their stable updated to this 32 beta - me included, Windows 8.1. Is is THAT hard to push a quick hotfix that will return the up and don arrows on the right scroll bar? I wonder if the lack of them is a mistake, or an another "genius" idea after changes to the speeddial by placing there a huge, unnecesarry Google logo with a search field.

Flamboyant said...

The new animation for drop-down is horrible as it expands/closes from the center of the expanded list, rather than top/botton of the drop-down.

Please consider reverting this, the 'new' implementation feels very detached during use.

Dropbox.com funcionality is also suffering from this version update- no longer able to drag and drop documents from the computer into a folder structure within the browser. Hope this functionality returns soon as it is the reason our company promotes the use of Chrome for our activities.

Abdulhalim Bambang said...

Yes, there are many issues with the update.

I suggest revert back to version 31 as that is definitely more stable. You can find the file here, no it's not a virus or spam: http://www.filehippo.com/download_google_chrome/54482/

@Tom Wiltzius: I only used the updated version momentarily.

Yes, it was just scrolling issues for me. It wasn't as smooth compared to as it is now on version 31 so I figure it's framerate issue while scrolling. But as others have suggested after me, there was an issue regarding dropbox and drop-down menu as well...

Craig Henderson said...

Is there a plan to revert back to Version 31? Is it on each individual company to roll this back ourselves?

I've been reviewing the blog daily, and there was no mention of when 32 was going to be released to the Stable channel, and as well this seems to be a bit of a botched release.

We were worried more about the NPAPI-plugin auto disabling for this release, and were waiting on deploying our GPO to whitelist certain plugins...

Please advise if Google will be rolling this back, or if we need to roll this back ourselves.

Thank you.

I can also confirm that I am now on version "32.0.1700.72 m" even though I'm on the stable channel. Google Drive keeps crashing on me for no apparent reason.

Force Flow said...

Some of the workstations on my network were "upgraded" to 32.0.1700.72 without warning. In this version, the quicktime 7.74 plugin crashes each time it is triggered for use. In 31.0.1650.63 this did not happen. Can this be fixed or can the browser be reverted to a stable working version?

Justin E said...

I can confirm our office and I are all on Chrome 32.0.1700.72 m. The biggest problems I've seen relate to the translate CSS properties. It looks like we accidently got a Beta version on the Stable channel.

Dread Nip said...

Someone has made a mistake in pushing this beta out as stable.

To tell us to "report the bugs or they won't get fixed" is patronising.

How about "Don't push betas out as stables then we won't have the issues in production in the first place"

That sounds much better, Revert this appaling decision and take someone to task for it now before even more noise is made about it through high traffic channels.

I am also using Stable chrome with this 32.x beta update.

I specifically clicked "Download Chrome" on the main Chrome page, which I assumed was the stable version. but it seems I now have the same version as the Beta build.

I don't have any issues (yet), but only stable builds should be pushed as updates. Please revert this update. I am not going to be your beta tester.

I have the good fortune to still have a "Version 31.0.1650.63 m" under Windows 7, but I know several Windows 7 users who are now using Firefox just to have functionality they require.

These updates need to be reverted and I am surprised that it's been allowed to persist.

Having issues with Pig Toolbox gestures not working. General slowness with downloading pages across internet. Any plans to revert back to last stable release?

LEADSPECTRE said...

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know that I may have found a fix. All I did was uninstall Chrome & reinstall it right away. It revert back to Version 31.0.1650.63 m so there I hope that helps some people at least.

A mi también se me colgaban las cargas de las paginas por problemas con los anuncios flash y los vídeos en youtube, aunque se ven bien, van a trompicones porque la carga también va a trompicones.

What buggy release! OMG

Alex Baumhoer said...

Incredibly buggy release; I use several websites regularly for work that were made almost unusable by this version. Myself and several other coworkers received this update even though we are all on the stable channel. I can confirm that uninstalling/reinstalling got me back to the stable 31.x version.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE SCROLLBAR ARROWS!!! Thought I was imagining things when I discovered they were gone. Don't want to go to the trouble of uninstalling and then re-installing Chrome. I have a lot of bookmarks.

siriousje said...

I don't mind the scrollbars, but suddenly the radio and checkboxes seem to resize (where before, they always took the same system size). This breaks a lot of the designs, wouldn't it be better to announce such a big change before just releasing it?

LEADSPECTRE said...

@Mary Do you have a gmail account? if you sign in through chrome you'll be able to sync to "the cloud" all your settings including bookmarks, themes, etc. So that if you uninstall & reinstall chrome it won't lose all those preferences.

Cyanide Breathmint said...

I've reverted back to version 31 for now. There is absolutely no way I'm using a browser that breaks the consistency of my OS's scrollbars, drop down menus, checkboxes etc.

We are also having trouble with the new release of Chrome and Quicktime 7.7.4 on Win 8.1 64bit

The quicktime plugin crashes immediately when invoked. It works fine with Chrome 31.x

New version has removed scrolling arrows from top and bottom of scroll bar. These arrows are critical for browsing very long pages. Will need to switch to another browser, till its fixed.

FIX THE FUCKING SCROLL BARS YOU ASSHOLES

swiftyfrisko said...

I assume you know already but...

Scrolling of the dropdown list in Select controls is broken in v32.

1. Clicking the scrollbar (not the scroll thumb) results in a click on the option underneath.

2. No mouseover effect on the last item in the dropdown, although it can be selected.

You can see both effects on: the GMail Settings page -> General -> Default Country Code

Running Win 7x64
