Since this update hit my Chromecast last night, Netflix well not play on it through any off the devices we have set up to cast. I get a timeout connecting to device error within the Netflix app
Same here. Not working on my Nexus 5 since I got the update last night. Nothing I have done works. I uninstalled/reinstalled Chromecast and Netflix on the device and did a factory reset on the Chromecast itself. It's frustrating.Youtube is working, though, so I'm assuming that there will be a Netflix app update soon. Hopefully.
I'm surprised to see that it still shows time in AM/PM? Even though my timezone is set to Sweden time which (like most countries) use 24hr time.And does it support 13 wifi channels yet? No setting so I guess not..?
My Chromecast is screwed up since the firmware update. The load screen displays to tell me Chromecast is booting up, then nothing. Black screen and flashing light. Any ideas why this is happening? Has anyone else had this issue or do I have a defective Chromecast?
I also have the same Netflix issue where it won't play. WTF GOOGLE!!!

Mine broke too after update. First it got mad at me for unplugging it and it ate the firmware in my router. 100$ for new router, enjoyed chromecast for a couple weeks, new update bricks it. Lame.
My Chromecast will not sync audio and video correctly when casting google tabs. This was not a problem before the update.There is a release about this at The Streaming Advisor website too.
This is why staged rollouts are good, I think this update has been stopped because it is not many ppl who has got the update. In our house only 1/3 is on the new version.So probably a new version is in the works fixing the regressions?

To everyone whose Chromecast has been having issues casting netflix since the update, please follow these steps.1. Go to "Chromecast" app on your android or IOS device.2. Select your Chromecast that is giving you issues.3. Select 'General', this will be followed by a build number.4. Select 'Reset', this will perform a factory reset.5. Setup your Chromecast as if it were new.6. Watch Netflix.You're welcome internet.
I tried everything suggested on this page and nothing corrected the 16003 error. Then I tried streaming Netflix from my laptop and it worked. Now my Android device seems to have its mojo back too. Give it a try and prey.
Love the new wallpapers! Unfortunately I've experienced problems with my chromecast since the new update. First I couldn't cast videos from any app from my Nexus 7/Laptop. When I finally could, the video projected on the TV was choppy and showing green pixels.
Great wallpaper, but Netflix app on my ipad seems to loose connection - and no way to regain it, so no option to stop, pause or start someting else :( Have done a reset of the Chromecast as suggested, but instead of the white subtitels I got the yellow subtitels back again.....grrrrrrr
I have a Samsung galaxy S4 that I am using as a mobile 4G hotspot for two devices: first is the Chromecast that is attached to a TV via HDMI, and also to a Windows laptop running the chrome browser. I intend to use the Windows laptop to control the display on TV. I turn on mobile 4G hotspot on the Samsung galaxy S4 that creates a Wifi network called SCH-1453023A0 and I setup a password for it. Both the Chromecast and Windows laptop are able to setup and connect to the SCH-1453023A0 network but the Chromecast drops off and does not show the Wifi connected icon, and the Chromecast app on the Windows laptop keeps saying it cannot find any Chromecast on the SCH-1453023A0 Wifi network. This is a bug with Chromecast in my opinion. Please have this fixed.
Well, watching netflix tonight the chromecast stopped working on the iPad and the samsung g4, but continued to work in our rooted kindle operating kit kat. So maybe they wrote this on the latest platform and now have to play catch up for the other devices?
As others have mentioned, I'm having problems with Build 14651. My updated CC boots up to a blank screen (after showing the various boot animation logos).The workaround is to boot up the CC while it's uplugged from the HDMI port. In other words, I pull out the CC from the back of my AVR, I then remove and then reconnect the USB power. I wait until the CC's LED goes to solid white. Then I plug the CC back into the HDMI port.My other CCs that have not received this update yet work just fine. So that pretty much points squarely to this update.If you Google this problem, you'll see that many others are having the exact same issue with this Build 14651.
I am having the same issue. I can play one movie on netflix and suddenly I cant connect any longer. The movie keeps playing on the chromcast device but netflix cant connect to chromecast... Some error like "This device is no longer on the same network" Which is not true because I can play movies just fine from hulu plus.
Google - I'm experiencing the same problems described here. Reseting the device does not correct the issue. PLEASE FIX!
Every since the newest update has been installed it has been nothing but problems. I can not get Netflix to play more then 2 shows back-to-back. I keep getting the device no longer on same network.I have rebooted and reset back to factory. They work for the the first time we try to play something back to back but then it fails again. I don't really care to have to reboot or reinstall just to play three shows in a row. Maybe it is Google telling me to get off the the TV.But is snowing and cold outside so play get it fixed soon.thanks
Have a the problem 'device no longer on network' whe using netflix, YouTube seems to work ok and switching to you tube seems to in freeze the chromecast but netflix is nearly unusable, the app and the chromecast seem to loose communication with each other which locks up the csHope try fix it soon!
Having same Netfix casting issue. Worked with Netflix and no troubleshooting fixed it. I got an email from support that they are aware, but please get a fix soon. It gets frustrating rebooting the device all the time to get it to work.
Same here...ever since the update I'm having cast issues with Netflix, although HBO Go works Ok. When trying to cast from Netflix it times out on my device and just hangs up on the TV showing the NF splash screen and just continues to load.When I do a factory reset I can get Netflix to cast properly BUT only for one show. Once that show ends and I try to cast another one it reverts back to the time out and connection behavior.Also, when I do get it to cast from NFL it cannot be paused or stopped.Please advise....everything was perfect until the firmware update.
Same here. Since upgrading to build 14561 I can see that the cromecast is on as I see the first boot screen, but then the TV goes dark and I can stream nothing, nor can I communicate with it (like rename). Please fix it.
