Are you sure this is going to update this time? I hold very little faith now in Chrome and there updates.
Don't work ...\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\PepperFlash\11.9.900.117\pepflashplayer.dll from Google Chrome v. 30.0.1599.69
The last time that the Flash Player would be updated in Google Chrome through system component update Chrome has not been updated for anyone and they released a new version of Google Chrome for it to be updated is put Google users at risk with Chrome lack of Flash Player update for everyone. The Google Chrome team is doing a great job I'm more disappointed if it continues I will change the browser.
The component update system is very obscure. It seems the process cannot be started manually but checks on its own every five hours and requires Chrome to be running. This way people always have to check if they have the most recent plugin and they can't do anything about it if they don't.It's about time "chrome://components/" gets integrated into the official releases, so that people can update flash on their own.
48 hours have passed now.Flash still hasn't updated!Chrome is the only browser on my PC with an out of date version.I'm not impressed.
Chrome has not updated flash, a problem which I can see from comments here and earlier this month that is not uncommon. Can someone advise? Should I reinstall Chrome? Thanks
Reinstalling probably won't help because the most recent flash plugin was not released parallel with a new Chrome release. The installation file of Chrome should include the 11.8.800.170 flash plugin.
Well, if Flash is not updating Chrome is somehow corrupted maybe a reinstall would work. BTW, does Chrome update flash while flash is in use because I always have flash working when I'm online.Thanks.
mines is still on 11.8
Flash finally updated several hours ago after a restart. No idea if the restart did it as I shut down my PC nightly.
Nobody knows how the component update system works except Google, so nobody knows why their plugin is up to date or why not.
Thanks for responding to my posts Der Moloch. Maybe Google would be kind enough to explain things so people would know what to expect.
How can the component updater be disabled? We use Microsoft Applocker to block all unknown executables and libraries and naturally this means that after a flashplayer update the built-in flash does not work any more since Applocker prevents Chrome to load this new dll.(%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data\PepperFlash\$Flash-Version\pepflashplayer.dll)We would like to be able to disable automatic updates of flash and update this component ourselves (which is quite easy). We already use GoogleUpdate.adm which works well to disable Chrome updates, but does not work (anymore) for component updates with Chrome 30.
