The Chrome team is excited to announce the promotion of Chrome 31 to the Beta channel for Android. Chrome 31.0.1650.11, which will be available in Google Play over the next few hours, contains a number of new features, fixes, and improvements, including:
  • Application shortcuts: Easily add any website shortcut to home screen via menu. Some websites will open in a fullscreen, no browser UI experience
  • requestAutocomplete(): Checkout experience on the web has been made simpler. Try our test site 
  • Refreshed New Tab Page: Some users will notice a refreshed new tab page that also loads faster
  • Support for Web Speech API
Known issues:
  • 302433: Most visited web pages are not updated as thumbnails in Most visited section of NTP
  • 303831: [M31] 'Add to homescreen' option still available for bookmarks on Old NTP
  • 302679 : 3rd party URL's from web app opens with glitches and blank screens
  • 302722 : [Youtube] Complete blank screen and interrupted video when tapping H/W back button when playing video
  • 297742: [M31] Changing volume using device volume buttons exits fullscreen videos
  • Some known crashes
