The Chrome team is excited to announce Chrome 30 for iPhone and iPad. Chrome 30.0.1599.12 contains a number of improvements including:
  • New look and feature enhancements for iOS7 on iPhone
  • Improvements to Fullscreen behavior especially on iPad (iOS7 only)
  • New Settings UI
  • Maps and email links launch the Google Maps and Gmail apps (if installed) automatically. You can change your preference in Settings
  • Stability / security improvements and bug fixes
Note: Chrome 30 raises our minimum iOS requirement to version 6 and higher.

The update will be rolling out in the App Store over the next few hours. Known issues are available on the Chrome support site. If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.

REMOVING THE FEATURE IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT. THANKS FOR TRICKING YOUR USERS INTO UPDATING THIS UNFORTUNATELY DECENT APP, AND FOR FORCING US TO GET IOS 7 TO GET THIS FEATURE BACK.
