The "Unread message icon" Lab in Gmail isn't working anymore. I know it worked yesterday, so I'm guessing that it's something to do with this update. I've restarted Chrome and disabled/re-enabled the Lab. No dice.

All pop-up extensions are no longer functional with this update.

Mayday! I just came here to point out what brainiac mentioned - extension pop ups don't work. There's a tiny, unusable pop up but the extension pop up is unusable.

i suffer the same problem as said above, the extension pop-up doesn't work any more.

With this new version the keyboard shortcuts are no longer functional when a dialog is displayed. For example after a F5 which displays a confirmation dialog, typing Enter or Cancel has no effects, I must click on the buttons with the mouse.

I post here because the bug tracker is down.

I guess it's related to revision 186099 since it's the only one that seem related to keyboard management.

I have a temporary fix for the pop up extensions.

Close out of chrome completely.

Go to your appdata folder / google / chrome. On Windows 7 it is "C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application"

You will see 2 folders. rename the one with the higher version # to something else just as a backup (i.e. 27.0.1430.0 became 27.0.1430.0.bak). Rename the one other one to have a name of the old one (so rename it to 27.0.1430.0)

Cheers! :)

Bijan Albuyeh's workaround seems to do the trick for allowing the extension pop ups again. Thanks!

Just set the GPU compositing for all page to disable into the flags page and the extensions popup will work again without the previous workaround. The problem is the GPU rendering guys...

Thanks Wayne!

Thanks Bijan, but because I didn't see this until after the latest update, I still have the problem, pop ups are not working.

Bijan Albuyeh said...

Kaj: You should still see an older version of Chrome in which the pop-up extensions were working. What are the two folders you see under /google/chrome/applications?

Don't bother. This issue is still broken in 27.0.1430.3

THIS WORKED FOR ME.
EXTENSIONS POP OUT NOT WORKING THEN DISABLE BOTH THE FLAGS IN CHROME://FLAGS

GPU compositing on all pages Mac,
Uses GPU accelerated compositing on all pages, not just those that include GPU-accelerated layers.

Uses a secondary thread to perform web page compositing. This allows smooth scrolling, even when the main thread is unresponsive.

Since chrome dev 27.0.1425.x i suffer this:

When ever i visit my 10 favorite bookmarks
that require a username/pwd
(one of these is Google's YouTube)
I am forced to manually input
the first char of username/pwd.

Only then chrome fills in the correct rest,
so chrome has correctly stored my pwds.

vijayngandhi: Thank you. Disabling this two flags works for me too and extension popups are back.
