Chrome for iOS Update

The Chrome team is happy to announce Chrome 25 for iPhone and iPad. Chrome 25.0.1364.86 contains a number of improvements including:
  • Long press on the back button to quickly access any page in your tab history
  • Share a web page via Messages
Along with these new features, over the coming days we will make searching on Google even easier:
  • See your search term right in the omnibox, instead of the search query URL
  • Easily refine your search queries and view more results on the search results page
The update will be rolling out in the App Store over the next few hours. Known issues are available on the Chrome support site. If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.

Can Chrome for Android users also get the long press feature to bring up history?

"Why does the onscreen keyboard sometimes disappear when I touch a text box?

This is a known issue in iOS that specifically affects the keyboard display when a page finishes loading. We are working with Apple to fix this issue."

I went back to Safari after getting frustrated with this after a few months with Chrome. Until it's fixed I consider Chrome for iOS to be broken...

The lack of Nitro (Apple's javascript engine) doesn't help either. Google should push Apple harder to allow third party browsers to use Nitro.

I have and IPhone 4 and 5 and both just updated to the newest Chrome build and both crash soon after startup. Is there something I can do to fix this?

This version also crashes within 10 seconds of startup for me. I'm running the most recent iOS on my iPhone 5

I am also experiencing crashing on startup on my iPhone 4S as well.

Chrome crashes after the update. Happens about 10 seconds after startup.

Chrome for iPad (3rd gen wifi, early 2012) is crashing exactly 4 seconds after startup. 4 seconds. I tested this 10 times. Even if you do nothing, 4 seconds, then crashes. Please fix this. I don't want to go back to using mobile Safari

Please note, if you are using Chrome on a jailbroken device, that's not a supported config. If so, and you are seeing crashes, we recommend disabling any plugins or other programs that could cause Chrome to crash. If you are experiencing crashes and are not jailbroken, please report them at crbug.com/new

Aaaand, you guys broke Shockwave Flash again. I was having zero problems with it until today. Now, half the websites I visit regularly are crashing and making the browser totally unresponsive. I really wish you would test these versions more thoroughly. I can't believe how sloppy you are.

Chrome crashes on 4s iOS 6.1.2 jailbroken.

The only way to fix this was to delete Chrome, reinstall it, and then make sure to CHECK "Send Analytics." If you do not check the box, it will still crash.

I look forward to every update for Chrome for iOS. There are two reasons I still haven't fully adopted it on my iPhone 4: stability and a lack of "Reader" mode. Stability is slowly and slowly becoming less of an issue, but I tell you what: that "Reader" mode on Safari has become my new best friend. On the desktop (where I use Chrome exclusively), I use Clearly to allow me to have a "Reader" feature. I sure would love to see something like that come to the iOS app natively.

Keep up the good work, guys!

I have the same problem with the latest Chrome update on iPhone 5. Crashes about 5 seconds after opening, every time.

On my Windows version, embedded video players using Flash seem to have stopped working (e.g. http://cuteoverload.com/2013/03/03/should-i-eat-it-or-hug-it/).

You guys are getting sloppy with your releases.

What Mustard suggested above worked for me. I uninstalled, reinstalled from AppStore, and checked the Crash Reporting box. Now works well. Worked on my iPhone 4S and iPad.
