The Dev channel has been updated to 17.0.963.0 for all platforms.  This release has the following updates:

All Platforms

  • Updated V8 - 3.7.12.6
  • r113121 Omnibox suggestions will now be prerendered if our confidence of the user following the suggestion is high.
  • Support for <meta name=”referrer”>
  • Content Settings (in Options, Under the Hood) now has UI for “Mouse Cursor”, which controls the Mouse Lock API permissions.
  • r110556 Fixed a renderer crash that could happen when opening a new tab with many tabs open.
  • WebKit Issue 73056  - Small fix for BiDi selection.
  • WebKit Issue 63903 - Fixed WebKit's implementation of bdo, bdi, and output elements to match HTML5 spec section 10.3.5.
Windows
  • r111156 - Desktop shortcuts will be created for each user account, to launch Chrome with that account active.
Mac
  • The PDF viewer now renders nicer looking text.
  • r111426 - Plugins using the Core Animation rendering model are now rendered through Chrome’s compositor rather than directly to the screen. This should have no user visible side effects; please file bugs and cc: kbr@chromium.org if any unexpected issues are seen with plugin rendering on Mac.
Known Issues
  • Extension/App/Themes installs on Linux/ChromeOS are currently not working.  This includes sync-driven installs. (Bug 106599)
Full details about what changes are in this release are available in the SVN revision log.  Interested in switching to a different release channel?  Find out how.  If you find a new issue, please let us know by filing a bug.

How can one set up desktop shortcuts for each user account, to launch Chrome with that account active ?

I'm having troubles performing downloads. The "Save As" window shows "unconfirmed %random number%.crdownload" instead of the actual filename. This prevents saving with a custom filename too.

Like @Avinash Agrawal I too would like to know how to set shortcuts to open with a particular account.

Any reason why we are not running 11.2.202.xx version of the Adobe Flash plug-in, instead of 11.1.102.xx?

@Reo: Because it's a beta... When it moves to RC it will be used, I think

Is it me or does chrome open the last open page on start up every time now? o.O?
I have it option on "Open home page" but the function is the same, which is "Reopen the pages that were open last"
I had like 4 tabs open, closed it, reopen chrome, the 4 tabs came back.
Is this a new automatic feature? o_o

And also... when clicking on a link that is opening to a new window, not tab, window, it's always maximized now. The windows dont stay compact anymore =/. I prefer it when it's still in the compact mode.

Does anyone else experience this, or is it just me?

The browser is working fantastically, but these are just what I experienced after getting the new dev version. Not sure if it's a bad thing or a good thing. lol

If I close the browser. when I re-launch it, it opens the last tab that was opened instead of the homepage! For my configuration, the same since a lot of updates, this is the new tab page! I thing this is a not so glad bug :) anyway great update ;)

The new tab page is great! I hated the old one because the Bookmarks tab was simply unusable. Leave it as it is Google!

kei> No it's the same for me

Another thing is the javascript seems to leak the hell out of it. Basically on certain pages, i can reach more than 200k of memory use for one tab and often the javascript takes the most ressource. It's really annoying in my case, since i have only 1GB and so i have to restart the whole browser.

I'm on WINXP SP3.
