Dev Channel Update

The Chrome Dev channel has been updated to 12.0.742.5 for all platforms.  This release fixes a regression with sync along with other bugs. The full list of changes is available from the SVN revision log.  If you find new issues, please let us know by filing a bug. Want to change to another Chrome release channel? Find out how.

When will Google Chrome 11 stable be released?? I think there are no more major issues, all planned features are 100% working, and the six-week milestone has been passed!

@Jason hope Google chrome folks have seen JavaScript benchmark by Douglas Crockford

Multiple profiles still doesn't work.

It won't let me create a new profile. Why is this?

@Manish:
Yes I also thought Chrome is falling behind: in most of the examples on IE Test Drive Chrome is worse than IE or Firefox - some don't even work in Chrome at all. In the end I don't care whether "my browser" is the fastest in some specific benchmarks or not: I want the fastest when I browse the internet and open complex pages (comparable to the IE test drive).
And the guys at MS and Mozilla did a good job, with their latest browsers.

Where is the "text-shadow" ?!

Youtube just show the fav-icon after the video is fully loaded :(

Has still the scrollbarposition after refresh bug which emerged in the dev release before this one http://crbug.com/80254

@Norbert, that would be misleading to say "Chrome" is falling behind.

Don't be misled by any company's specific tests. It is true that in most of the examples on IE Test Drive, Chrome is worse than IE or Firefox.

That's because most of the IE Test drive examples only stress GPU acceleration. And yes, the best GPU accelerated browsers right now are IE9 and FF4.

Chrome overall is still excellent, and it's still the only one with a builtin sandbox. And while IE8/9 has separate processes, FF doesn't have that either.

Remember to consider overall features and design when characterizing a browesr.

I got a problem with the text-shadow attribute here. I don't know if it's present in the previous release of the dev channel, just noticed that. no text-shadow at all for me.

Embedded Youtube videos don't work for me. E.g. on Facebook or here http://www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel

"An error occured. Please try again later."

The videos work in IE9.

now I think chrome is much better than firefox 4. only one is still lacking, sometimes alaways loading and blank page.

heya,

Hmm, Chrome still won't quit for me on OSX *sigh*.

It appears to be a long-standing bug, basically means that I have to close all the Chrome windows, then force-quit.

Dating back till at least May 2010. It seems strange it still isn't' resolved nearly a year later.

Cheers,
Victor

@krtulmay:
Yes, you are totally right: I've been using Chrome since 1.0 - until FF4 and IE9 it has been by far the best browser for me. And I will continue using it - the security features (sandbox) you mention alone make it worth using it, fast startup time, the clean reactive UI, ...
But it's also true that it's not the fastest browser anymore, so IE 10 or the next FF will be interesting to see. Falling behind is maybe wrong to say, maybe IE and FF just partly outpaced Chrome in some areas... But the GPU part I consider importent: wouldn't it be nice to have games/pages like on IE Test drive around?

I also, like Hans, have scrollbar position after page refresh bug. After refresh the position is always on the top of the page.

Mr. Jason Kersey and Mrs. Karen Grunberg...

We're still waiting the version 11 stable.

With full support for GPU by default.
