This version mess with gmail. All the labels are now on a vertical list inside the emails.

It also changed something on the gmail inbox.

Instant doesn't seem to work when enabling "better omnibox history matching".

Great Update! Win Vista/32 bit

Noticed a little different Gmail format.

Anton said...

With the new version of Chrome, the e-mail entry lines in your Gmail inbox are now too "thick." The boxes for each entry are much taller than they used to be, resulting in too much space between e-mail subjects.

This is not a change to Gmail as the interface appears normal in Firefox and IE - this is a problem with the new Chrome Dev release.

Lionel Bee said...

Oh look an update.

Chrome still completely butchers youtube though.

David said...

On a couple pc's here, after installing the update, chrome doesn't want to open any more.
Click the icon, a window opens, freezes straight away, and gives a non-responding window.
Anyone else with this problem?

After updating to this version, Chrome crashes on my launch. Uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, however could never get it to launch without crashing. I have had to uninstall and install a beta version.

smileham said...

I'm having problems with this one too, crashes on start up on my Windows XP machine.

Jorge García Rodríguez said...

Why is WebGL and GPU disabled for XP?

Peter said...

David: I got that problem. Had to downrank to beta channel.

David said...

Found the solution, in your profile folder, delete the files:
web data
web data-journal

and it starts working again.

David said...

after update this crashes on restarting chrome - windows xp. can't fix it.

Team Dave said...

@David - Thanks your solution worked for the crashing bug.

Found the solution, in your profile folder, delete the files:

V8 is still broken. For example, bug 73940 is not fixed.

Same "fat gmail rows" problem here.

Cakalaky said...

If you are experiencing Gmail issues with the rows being bigger than normal star this issue - http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=73959

Martin said...

Thanks Dave for your advice.

Just to clarify, if Google Chrome is crashing when you launch it, go to C:\Users\USERNAME\appdata\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default and delete the two files (not folders) "Web Data" and "Web Data-journal".

Martin said...

Warning: The above step will delete saved bookmarks, etc; if you try to update them by syncing, then it will re-instate the crash-on-startup error.

Troubles with playing flash-video - speed of the play is too high. And in sound of video there are some dips. Its on Ubuntu Linux 10.10, Shockwave Flash 10.2 r154

Jonas N said...

As for Gmail: Give it a few days. Gmail is bugged with the latest build of Chrome on Dev Channel, but the problem is not with Chrome, but Gmail. It'll be updated soon.

Ivano said...

The "minimum font size" new setting affect also my personal pages where I cannot set a font less than 9pt!

There is a problem when submitting info to wordpress (e.g new post)

CWobbles said...

Crashes on update for windows 7 64bit ultimate as per posts above, crashes on open. Works fine when downgrade to earlier version. Also works fine on win 7 professional.

Interestingly I can only view this blog now using the IE extension for chrome and not directly in chrome! Keeps telling me to login or enable javascript/cookies in my browser when using chrome. My login id is displayed top left when it tells me this :P

Running 11.0.686.1 dev

Still getting weird Gmail formatting, vertical labels list on emails. See http://flic.kr/p/9nc6p4 for an example.

Alvaro said...

Again, why is WebGL disabled for XP?

It was working fine. We need it.

krtulmay said...

GPU and WebGL have currently been disabled on XP because GPU crashes are much more frequent and catastrophic (sometimes causing system hangs) on XP.

It is blacklisted on XP for now for all GPU features and vendors. Will be revisited once there is better overall stability.

1. Goto http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui
2. Enter stock symbols like "Goog", "adbe", "msft", etc
3. Page loads VERY SLOWLY

What is the expected result?
Page should load VERY FAST, as in IE

What happens instead?
Page loads VERY SLOWLY

11.0.686.1 crashes when autofill sync enabled, fine with everything but autofill set to sync.

Gesl said...

So lemme get this straight. Dev is well known to be the most unstable version. Yet on the worlds most widely used os, it is MISSING FEATURES that are in stable? How does that work? Give us our latest technology, and we'll live with the crashes.

Hernán Heyman said...

I have 2 gmail accounts.

One of them always rendered OK with this new version of Chrome Dev, but the other gmail account renders with all the described problems (rows too thick, no shadows under menues, vertical display of labels, etc).

Hernán Heyman said...

Well... forget my message above. After restarting Windows my both gmail accounts have render problems.
