why disable accelerated 2D canvas?
I want to know too... why disable accelerated 2D canvas?
Appears to be because of http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=58941 .
Too unstable and causes too many crashes it looks like.
Sure it will be added back shortly, no?
Was accelerated 2D canvas really unstable enough for a dev build? I've had it enabled for a while on my Win7 64bit pc without a single crash.
I could understand if this was a beta/stable release but this is a developer release and 2D canvas is not even a default, it has to be manually enabled.
I noticed a slight slow down when opening chrome with 30~ pinned tabs. Oh well, hopefully it will be back next release.
also this problem with hulu.

Yea the 2D canvas was extremely unstable for me.
"Bill", if you _really_ want to enable accelerated 2d canvas you can do that with a shortcut/command line switch: --enable-accelerated-2d-canvas
The text means that it just disappeared from "about:flags".
^Oh yeah, I totally forgot about switches in all the excitement haha. Thanks for that! Chrome 4 lyfe!!!!!
Password sync and encryption is removed
I am using xp sp3 and there was a no problem with chrome 2d acceleration. Why, 2d acceleration is not optional. How open enable-accelerated-2d-canvas option thnks
Chrome Radio Player extension is working again! I am afraid that this extension was also broken because of the GPU accelerated 2D canvas, or other things with the GPU...
I wish the GPU were used - but it just happens that the detailed software technology is not quite ready for the consumer yet.
Why I should sign-in to help forum when I am already signed in with Gmail + Request URL Too Large?
Edit
Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar):8.0.552.23
Operating System:Win XP SP3
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem): When I browsing Chrome Help Forum and wished to star the topic, then I had to sign in. Why°and what for? I had already signed with Google account. Moreover, when I am writing this text, it is right aligned in the box, and I do not have any instant idea how to rearrange this. Moreover, when I tried to sign in then I got Request-URI Too LargeThe requested URL /accounts/SetSID... is too large to process.
Surely, I didn't saved that full address and didn't take any other steps to keep data about it as i am in the middle of other things to do and was trying to star item with a goal to save my time (for future searches).
Current Dev (8.0.552.xx) is a kind of alpha release for upcoming 8.0 Stable.
Therefore incomplete features will be disabled or removed.
Once 8.0.552.xx goes to Beta channel, those features will be back to Dev.
Thanks, Instant crash on my Ubuntu x64 is fixed! ^.^
2d canvas was even crashing Civ V, if i had chrome running in the background.
stable channel is very stable
