In fact twitter extension and gmail extension both display unread items in smaller font size...

Thanks for fixing the bug related to LastPass!

I also agree with Gonzalo. The "Forecastfox Weather" extension also has tiny, barely readable text.

I think I found a possible bug.

When an extension is disabled, you cannot uninstall said disabled extension.

These bugs are STILL present:

There is still a bug when viewing a folder of bookmarks in the bookmarks bar in full screen. Open a folder of bookmarks, hover over any bookmark in the folder, then from there move the mouse cursor over any other folder in the bookmarks bar. The list does not appear under its folder as it should but instead opens from the very top of the screen. Confirm this on the Mac version

Visit a bookmark currently with a blank favicon. As the site is loading click a bookmarks folder on the bookmarks bar and keep the drop-down list open. The moment the actual favicon for the site loads and appears in its tab the drop-down list of bookmark folder just closes instantly. This bug has been present in Chrome as long I could remember when first I began using it back in 5.x, all channels of both Windows and Mac.

Bookmarks show blank favicons the first time a bookmark folder in the bookmarks bar is open when Chrome is launched. Favicons are displayed correctly when the folder is opened a second time. Occurs on Mac.

I'm happy to see that the "lastpass" bug is fixed in webkit in this version, but it'd have been nice if this had been announced in the release notes (or even acknowledged to have existed at all, since there was nothing at all about it in the prior release notes either).

God :(my omnibox is not working. I cannot use the search integration feature in the address bar :(. When I type in something I want to search for and hit 'enter', Chrome instead open the first page in my browsing history having the keywords

Jeff said...

i'll 2nd the omnibox. i cant search at all. not search engines are listed in the options.

The MAZZTer said...

@REO That sounds like a website problem. They shouldn't care what version browser you use. Website should check for browser features that they need, not check for known browsers and use browser features based on that.

@Neo if you search for the bugs you're experiencing on the code.google.com chromium project page, you can get updates for them in your e-mail. If you can't find them you can post them yourself.

For me, for the last few releases the captcha in this blog doesn't show up right. Happens at home and at work.

Also the apps pane messed up thing above I mentioned only seems to happen at home; at work my app buttons look fine. So it may be a specific app that is confusing it; I will have to test at home and file a bug report.

On the Mac, the wrench menu cleanup is a big improvement. Question, though: why is the background of the wrench menu one shade of light grey and the menus on the bookmarks bar a slightly darker shade of grey? From a UI consistency perspective, it seems like they should be the same color... and since the wrench menu and ctrl-click menu are the same background color as the OS menus, it seems like the menus on the bookmark bars are the ones that are inconsistent.

Feature request: Please consider adding keywords to bookmarks.

Feature request: On Linux, please consider using native scrollbar/slider controls from the GTK theme.

Mazzter, you have no idea what you're talking about - get informed before giving opinions.

The version of V8 included with the last chrome release had bugs which caused problems with All websites that utilized certain JS features, specifically those related to math - necessary for things such as hashing.

Had LastPass not taken the initiative, corruption of data could have occurred.

The MAZZTer said...

I didn't say anything about lastpass... REO said a website rejected him based on his browser version, and Neo was talking about bookmark bugs. I'm not sure what part of my post you're trying to attack there.

I'm also seeing the omnibox search issue. It appears to search through my browsing history fine, but it doesn't bring back results from Google.

For those whom really disturbs the "search in omnibox" issue:

Temporary you can configure the search engine by hand:

Options -> In the default search engine tab: Manage -> Add ->

- In the name field: whatever you want
- In the key word: the adress of the search engine, e.g. google.com
- URL:

{google:baseURL}search?{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&q=%s

Then you should set this search engine as the default and voila!

The omnibox search engines is a major issue! I'm not sure how many I had, never kept track, but it was definitely over 30 (some true search engines, some keyword bookmarks). Now all that info is lost. Adding them back is lost again when chrome is restarted.
The latest canary is fine, so I switch over for its stability.

Refresh button is disabled when you:
1. refresh the page and icon turns to a X (cross).
2. your mouse is still hovered over the now-disabled X icon before the page is fully loaded.

to fix this, move your cursor away from the disabled X icon and it will change back to an enabled Refresh icon

Know I'm late to the party on this complaint, but I have not been able to get over losing my bookmarks button. Yes, there are tons of alternatives, but why not have such a small, simple option available to users?

I have continuous crashes of iGoogle. If I'm on another website, that might crash as well (ie 9to5mac.com). If that other website crashes, the open iGoogle tab crashes as well.

Have never observed such behavior in previous builds.

Please fix. Quite uguly. Happens every 20-30 minutes or so.

First off, apologies to anyone who is having issues with their search engines in the omnibox -- the issue is known and a fix is in, and should be out in the next dev release. Next, please be aware that your search engine data is all still there and intact -- the bug is just that it's not being "read" correctly. It should all come back unharmed shortly...

Wow, I am running 7.0.514.0 and the acceleration really works!

Check this page before you update.

Then update to 7.0.514.0. Add the

--enable-accelerated-compositing

option to your Chrome.exe shortcut.

Then try the test page above again.

Chrome longer works behind a corporate proxy. Continually prompted for authentication requests multiple times per page. No option to save username and password on the prompt. It prompts so much that the browser is now virtually unusable. Worked fine on previous version.
