Update: We've released 5.0.356.2 for Linux Dev channel users as well now.
We have released Google Chrome 5.0.356.2 to the Dev channel on Windows and Mac to fix an issue where dragging anything with your mouse would freeze the tab. See issue 38414.

Thanks guys! That was fast.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
but that shade line still persist
Thank you, it works ! You're the best, GC Team ! :)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
;-)
yes the shade line is still there...damn...
What about Linux?
I would like to suggest not showing pinned tabs in aero peek.
I cant even get Google Chrome to start =/ I have to use 4.1 D8 but im a DEV fan
I agree with naturefreak. The aero peak with multiple instances does not look clean. And you lose the ability to minimize Chrome.
Fantastic, that was fast. As reported, the shaded line is still there. An interesting bug, for sure.
Shaded line is there, I can confirm.
Can anyone confirm that sometimes dragging around on http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/mar/17/cliff-stearns/stearns-says-house-democrats-trample-procedures-he/ causes the tab to crash? It's sporadic, but spending 30 secs or so trying to drag elements around or just generally screwing with the mouse makes the tab set crash.
What about linux guys? The tab becomes completely unresponsive.
P.S. Using 5.0.356.0 dev on Ubuntu 9.10
When I preview the Desktop with the right-bottom button on Windows7 superbar, and then click to minimize all windows (also Win+D), the Chrome tabs appear as MDI child windows.

I Have one big problem and that is with the create shortcut for application when i create a shortcut for application in this way the size of browser windows is decresse to the middle of the screen and then i can't get back to surfing i need to close the browser and to enter again to the same site i have been surfing in.
please fix it and thanks in advance.
Am I the only one who can start this version, it always crashes =/
5.0.356.2 Linux working fine! Thanks =)
i really don't like the tab pin issue in the taskbar. it's not like ie, at least show the title of tab pages. CHORME just show new tab, nothing more. very user unfriendly. I hope this can be fixed asap.
tab things drive people crazy. I wish i can post a picture here, which i cannot
Thank you very much, I was just planning to post this bug with dragging and you already fix it. Chrome is the best.
Hi, I' using ver. 4.0249.98 as earlier versions crash on various sites as: Bing, Mediafire, Hotmail, etc. I don't know the reason, maybe because of installed extensions or themes; however ver. 4.0249.98 also crashes on loading mediafire and especially when several tabs does open.
what is the reason?
Thx!
Pinned tabs no longer magnify when hovering on them. I liked that feature. Thanks for a GREAT product!
Aero peek showing windows is nice. Showing tabs is horrible for a many tab user like myself (20 tabs right now).
What is it?

System information: 0-day install W7 Hungarian, Chrome 5.0.356.2 dev Hungarian
In the Los Angeles Times website, as soon as I click on the comment form at the end of an article, I get the Aw, snap crash. There is something wrong with the new form features in Dev.
this build is still really unstable, I get frequent tab crashes
also who asked for tab previews on the taskbar, I sure didn't
they don't even work most of the time
Great... but how about now fixing the bug in the Linux where visiting just about every page results in the 'aw snap' error message that can only be fixed by purging the deb, deleting the Chrome profile, and reinstalling -- only to have the error reappear after you exit and restart the browser. This bug has been filed by several people, and has been present for a long time in all channels; making Chrome virtually unusable for some.
I get crash 100% when I edit blog at http://www.nciku.com.tw/ and select characters with mouse.
This release is still unstable.
The aero peek feature on windows 7 is nice for when you only have a few tabs open (< 6), but for avid tab users (I often have 20+), it's horrible to have to look through all the tab names to find the one you want. With the old system, you could easily switch back to the tab you were using last, and being able to do this still would be fantastic. Until then, back to firefox :)
Release still crashes on livejournal.com when use mouse wheel to open link in new tab or just clicking on links.
The New Release Has A Boring Feature ! Every Tabs Need a new Chrome Window (In Taskbar of Windows 7) Also crashing on www.yahoo.com
One minor bug: on mouseover on chrome icon in windows 7 taskbar, recently opened tabs are called "New Tab" rather than the title element of page. You might want to look into this.
getting lots more tab crashes with this release. what's the best way to report these, or does chrome report tab crashes automatically?
thanks.
i just switched back to the beta channel (on mac) because i was tired of the crashes, and i noticed that the beta (5.0.307.11) seems much faster than the dev channel. is the slowness of the dev channel version to be expected (e.g. debug build vs release)?
crashing all the time. please fix it asap...
'aw snap' is becoming more frequent now and I personally categorize this as a a high priority as it affects the ability to browse and discover bugs etc.
Win 7 Pro - 64bit user.
First of All, Congratulations Chrome Team
Ok... Now, please implement smooth scrolling natively in Google Chrome, I think it should not be so hard ... I don't like to have many extensions installed, even more, to meet simple things like this.
About the taskbar support in Windows 7, there are still some problems ...
When you close a tab by thumbnails, all other thumbnails disappear, then you must click on Chrome icon again to display the thumbnails again, to then close another tab.
And it remains to implement the progress of the download on taskbar Chrome icon, as in IE.
Bye
open several tabs, then hit ctrl+d in win 7, you will see so many "small square" tab which is just bad. hope the team can fix it in next release
WIN(start)+D = messy thumbnails
reported my dev errors (frequent aw snaps) I'm about to go back to stable :(
could you guys possibly add a download status on the task bar icon? like on lame internet explorer
hanging after drag still there. trying to copy and paste but tab will hang as soon as draging is stopped
I have no problems dragging though, what OS do you have?
On Google Docs, the cut/copy/paste function does not work for me anymore, even with CTRL-X, CTRL-C and CTRL-V... It is a problem of Google Chrome or Google Docs ? :/
Crashes more than my alcoholic mother please fix
Regarding Aero Peek:
It shows me two windows, but only one tab ("New Tab") is open.
The Aw, snap page appears as soon as I double click on any text from mashable.com website pages. Not sure if these page crashes are only for mashable.com or for a particular action performed by me.
@Thiago: the dowload progress on the taskbar is already on the trunk and will land to dev soon.
another really exiting thing: pinned tab will be persistent between session, so you can choose a gruop of pinned tab to be load every time you open your browser... already on the trunk, soon on the dev.
great Google!
Please make the old aero peek function an option. The new way is completely useless and confusing when you have a lot of tabs...
Had to revert to BETA on this one. Crashes whenever I click anywhere on certain sites, and I hate the new Aero Peek functionality.
Where are the bookmarks actually stored in linux version?
I have screwed up my linux installation, have to format it now. So, i want to copy the bookmarks.
How do i do that?
looks like some changes to the forms interfere with the CTRL + RIGHT and CTRL + LEFT shortcuts:
normally the cursor jumps from one word to another (adding shift makes it possible to select whole words). Now instead of this behavior chrome just jumps between tabs. Very annoying..
Chrome should have incognito TABS and windows so that users don't have to switch between windows.
Please revert the Aero Peek functionality in Win7 back to how it was. I appreciate the team working to full take advantage of Aero, but an option to disable the new behaviour would be welcome :) Also it'd be nice if the Chrome could use the Aero progress bar functionality to display progress of downloads on the taskbar. I'm sure it's already in the pipeline, but just thought I'd mention.
crashes a lot on wired.com, pretty much every time i hover over the share option below each article.
sorry but on my ubuntu it is very buggy too
always showing the sad computer telling there is a mistake...grrrrrrr
I only have to select some text and text elsewhere in the page
OK. Get movin here already. This release is really annoyingly unstable. Get a new release already please.
It's surprising how much time stays this unstable and buggy release.
just a simple question, does the 5.0 dev version contains all the features and fixes the stable or beta release of 4.1 ???
noob here....running W7/64. Is there a way to get flash (or Java...I have no idea)...working with this (or future versions?). Not getting any pictures on the front page of NYT or Huffington. Cleared cache....works fine in IE. Help?
@Joegrind: Is your JRE x64 or x86? IE has both x64 and x86 on W7/64, whereas chrome would require x86 JRE.
@Neo...thanks for the quick response. Not sure which version I have....the websites came up under both 32 and 64 versions of IE. I just downloaded Java Version 6 Update 18...which according to the website is recommended for Chrome. I'm going to install and reboot and see if anything changes.
Back in 5.
@Joegrind: If IE x86 is displaying Java content, then Chrome should also. Otherwise, something else is wrong!
@Neo: yeah...both IE show Java. Nothing on Chrome after the re-install of Java 6/18 and cache clear/ reboot.
Any suggestions?
Reinstall Chrome?
@Joegrind: I dont think re-installing Chrome would do it, but still give it a try. Try googling it. Never experienced it myself so no idea.
FYI...did the reinstall and everything is working fine (except for the occasional Adobe 10 pop-ups). Thanks for the help though.
@juri
It contains more features but it is less stable at times.
There is a bug on Google Chrome Dev 5.0.356.2. When I enter this site http://www.plurk.com/p/4bzfu4 , and press the link 【墾丁春浪,購票從速!】, then it will show problem message. Just only on this version. (Sorry that chinese word). Please test it, Thanks.
