Thanks for getting rid of that horrible Apple-esque shadow/highlight effect for the bookmarks text, it'd been driving me crazy.

Does this have any support for subscribing to RSS feeds yet? Just give me a little icon that adds it to my Google Reader account, I beg you. That is the only thing that keeps Chrome from being the perfect browser for me.

This page: http://handcraftedcss.com/workshop/ causes huge scrolling problems in Chrome.
It is especially funny as it is about "bulletproof web design" ;)

awesome new tab page. themes are really cool. program launch time with some themes i tried now takes several seconds, with default it's virtually instant...also, MSN portal has javascript errors in side modules, and the main feature box doesn't scroll to next(this has always been a problem in chrome)...keep up the great work, chrome rocks!

@Tom
There is an extension that will do the job for you, its called TPGoogleReader and IMO is really exceptional...
http://code.google.com/p/tpgooglereader/
There;s just too many features for both reading and subscribing to feeds to include them here ...
It really is worth a look ;-)

I like the new ideas in this release, but what exactly is the "Even more" box for? I also don't like the way I've had my recent bookmarks stolen from me - a way to browse those would be nice, and there also doesn't appear to be any way to get restore icons for the most viewed sites after they've been removed.
Another really annoying thing is how much space is taken up with the three little option icons and the Google Chrome logo - if this was more compact, maybe you could make more room for displaying bookmarks or more of the most viewed pages.
The themes are a good idea, though, and if you could make it easy for people to create their own, ie, by changing the colour schemes etc, that'd be cool, since sometimes the fonts don't show up too well, such as when URL's display in the bottom left hand corner of the window.
Finally, it would also be nice to have the option to rename our most viewed websites, maybe make the icons smaller so we can display more, or have an option to scroll through, say, our top twenty, with the most important being displayed on the front page.
Another point going back to themes is that if you let us choose from our already downloaded themes rather than make us re-download old ones if we wish to switch back to a particular one is annoying and a waste of space on my hard drive.
Once you've ironed out the main kinks, I can see this being a good release, but in the meantime I'm slightly displeased.

Its great!
The new tab page is nice. Personally i didnt like the "Recent bookmarks", anyone could look at them...
Themes are cool.
Good job!
The RSS feeds would be nice to have without an extension i think, something like Safari maybe.

I've been waiting for themes, but now that they're here, I ended up sticking with the default. We will be able to create our own eventually, won't we?
On the New Tab Page, it would be nice if I had the option to turn the Recent Bookmarks window back on, and maybe when hovering the X in one of the site thumbnails it could give some indication as to what will replace the removed thumbnail.

Miss the recent bookmarks, why don't let us add it to the "Even more" box?
Also, I sometimes see only downloads in the "Recent activities" box and no sites. I want the sites and don't care too much about the downloads.
Finally, the new New Tab page is slower than the old. Maybe not a problem on a proper computer, but on my Atom N270 netbook it's notable. Not very bad, but notable. And actually frustrating.
Not sure what you wan't to do about it, but at least now you have my two cents.

I just realized this release completely broke the tab dragging functionality for me. Any attempt to drag a tab results in that tab breaking off into its own window, and I can't get it to drop back into the tab bar.
This is a huge inconvenience for me.

BooJoh, I know it won't help you, but for the record: everything works as expected over here.
Another quirk though, upstart time for the first instance of Chrome has expanded from fractions of a second to almost a second. Not good.
(Upstart time for the next instances are still quick though)

Themes support is great, the new tab page is not. I'd really appreciate the searches back, as well as not having to scroll the page to get to recently visited stuff. It's good there are more of them now, but I don't like the placement. Is there a way to revert the layout back or is such coming?

I agree with what James said...
"Thanks for getting rid of that horrible Apple-esque shadow/highlight effect for the bookmarks text, it'd been driving me crazy".
I find the themes very distracting and in-your-face. Would be nice to have just some plain colors to choose from.
This latest update is great. Thank you to all contributors for such a great browser!

I don't know where to ask for this, but I beleive it is a necessary thing to add SOON in Chrome! There should be a message that asks Are you sure you want to close all tabs?, when there is more than one tab opened and you decide to close the browser, sometimes you hit the X acidentally!!!

Also, the new way to get rid of or make sites sticky to the New Tab page is visibly disturbing.
I will never or at least very seldom need those functions and therefore don't need to see the small bar flashing up every single time I hover my mouse.
Would it be possible to add this functionality in some other way? I don't know the inner workings of web browsers, but would it be possible to add this to the right click menu instead? Or to simply turn customization off for us who find it disturbing?

I second //M's post.
There should be an "edit" link that let's you move/pin/delete the thumbnails in the "new tab" page as previous build had.
About themes:
Transparent theme should really be TRANSPARENT using dwm!! It would look gorgeous for Windows Vista/7 users.
Despite the above, this build is looking nice and I like the perspective you're taking. Thanks for providing us with such a magnificent browser!

About the "what will we put here?", I suggest 'Recent files', and having it show recent Google Docs for those of us who use it, and a 'new google doc' links in there by default to lure new users.

The new tab page does indeed look nice, but it really, REALLY needs back the Recent Bookmarks, just make it removable for those who didn't like it. I can't express in words how much it frustrates me when things get taken away for no good reason from software, and I really hope it can be put back on.
I think I might go to the stable version if it still has the old new tab page, since it actually is more functional for me now with the Recent Bookmarks. The recent files thing is completely useless. Why would I want to download a file I already have again?
And one last thing: I see the page now only has 8 thumbnails, however I needed all my 9 in the last version so I really hope you make it customizable. Everything in the new tab page.
tl;dr version: Bring back Recent Bookmarks and 9 thumbnails in the New Tab Page, this new one is not that great!

Bad changes.
The 4x2 home page is harder to use than the 3x3 one. Also there is no obvious way to customize it other than removing and editing what is there. Right click does nothing. No "replace with" option on the items.
The "recent activities" box is much harder to use than individual "downloads" and "closed windows" boxes.

I loved the easy search boxes, no extra typing necessary, just what I want to search for where I want to search for it, where did it go, and can it please not be limited to only 4?

While the new tab page is showing some advances, there are some thing I miss about the old page:
- Recent Bookmarks was great; it kept me from loosing stuff that was fresh on my radar
- No way to view or re-enable blacklisted sites.
- The controls for pinning and deleting are cute, but if they create too much overhead or visual clutter, it would make more sense to just add these options to the right-click context menu. That puts all your controls in the same place.
- I find the 3x3 grid of thumbnails more visually accommodating. Maybe the 4x2 layout is better for widescreen displays, but it feels awkward to me.
- I do like "Recent Activities", and assume you've got plans for "Even more", but they don't quite fit on a 1024x768 display if you have the bookmarks bar off (and thus floating on the new tab page). This new layout also prefers a rather large/tall window to look right.
- I can't see much use for the "List view". If you're going to have a display toggle, how about between horizontal and vertical configurations (i.e. new layout vs. old layout).

Is this the first beta release to have per-window download shelves? I gotta say, I don't understand this change. There's now exactly one thing that's per-window, and it's something that made perfect sense per-tab. Why break the tabs-first idea for that?
Besides, why per-window and not app-wide? Why does that make any more sense?

Best browser ever.
New tab/home page not as good as the last one. Recent Bookmarks sorely missed. Layout not as clear. Recent Activities not as clear and easy to use.
I will leave Beta and return to stable because of this, even though I like the themes.
