when will they add an option to the ''open on a new tab and bring you directly to this new tab instead of leaving you on the current page'' problem
Nice update. I see the new tab is slightly refined with broader blue outlining and its easier to move around the thumbnails.
@fbeaupre: They already have that option. You just have to right-click the link you want to open and then there will be several options for opening in new tab or new window.
My theme is gone again with this update, replaced with new polished default one.
And there is new button in settings "Get themes" forwarding to "https://tools.google.com/chrome/intl/en/themes/" but it is giving error 404. I hope to see some brand new themes there soon, Chrome needs them...
The linux dev channel lags behind this announcement again, still downloads 3.0.195.1
@Revanth, what @fbeaupre is talking about is different. Before Version 3.0.195.1 when you would right click a link and "open in a new tab" it would open the new tab in the background and keep you on that original tab. Now it opens the new tab and switches the focus to that tab. I second @fbeaupre that it needs fixed. Maybe at least an option to choose which way that new tabs open.

I'm running Chrome 3.0.195.1 on OSX and when I go to About Chrome it says there is no update available. Does the update take a while to make it to some people, or is it only for certain operating systems?
i don't like the way the new tab page has been updated.
firstly, where has the tips and suggestions gone? I loved them!
2nd-ly, i hate it when you don't want a certain "Most-Visited" site to appear on the New Tab page, but apparently, that's permanent! There should be an option to forget these preferences.
also, the "Themes" link, apparently it isn't working.
and glad to note that Google is accepted in the spell-check! (:
@sozh97, if you hover the mouse over the offending "most-visited" site. A blue outline should appear - at the top there is a pin and a cross, clicking the cross will remove the offending item.

- I loved and used the "Tips and Suggestions". They distinguish Chrome from other browsers. Please, bring it back.
- My installed Theme is not visible any more.
- I removed too hastily a thumbnail of a web page and I want to bring it back. Is there a way of doing so ? A way to implement this would be to give to the user the capability to introduce the exact URL for a given thumbnail.
When you hover over the 3 buttons on the "new tab" page i get the hover text with some square-characters at the front and at the end. Anyone confirm?

if you have your bookmarks under the adress field, and you have some folders there, its really a pain.
if you open a folder and choose to go to the next, you have to double klick the next folder

man this whole open tab with focus thing is really freaking annoying. i was hoping it would be fixed in this release, wtf
Don't new tabs load in the background if you middle click on a link instead? It's quicker than right clicking and selecting new tab anyway, so I'm happy with the way new tabs are handled at the moment.
Note: The themes page isn't up yet, work is actively being done on it.
Another Note: Quote from a developer - "the tips and suggestions are going to be reworked for the next version."

Issue 5285 is for the ability to remove/add thumbnails and edit their URl's.
Wow, chrome is getting better and better, I do miss the suggested sites thing on the new tab page though. I hope they bring it back, but who knows maybe they will come up with something even better. I hope they get the themes page working soon, even if it only has a couple dummy themes like making chrome red or green or something just so, we can get an idea of how the themes will work. Great job Google, chrome is and always will be the best browser around. Also, I cannot wait to see Google Chrome OS, please post some screenshots on the blog!

I appreciate the quick fix for the problem with title attributes failing to show up as tooltips in 3.0.195.1.
I also prefer the new tab not to get focus. I use it mainly to click several links, and the tabs load in the background while I finish reading the main page.
For example: I am in a forum index and I want to read posts 1, 4, 7 and 10. I CTRL+click their links to load in new tabs while I finish to read the forum index. Got it?
That's true... focus need to stay on the tab we're currently seeing!

Anyone who likes to open new tabs in the background can still do so.
Both CTRL + CLICK and MIDDLE CLICK open links as new tabs in the background.
Now I know about the MIDDLE CLICK thing I'm not at all bothered about the new behaviour.
Sometimes I do wish to be taken straight to the newly opened tab, and now there is that option.
Maybe Google should email us with changes, fixes on each dev update so we know this stuff?

I (and most people) don't have middle click...
and ctrl-click requires two hands...
also, what is the point ?
if you are not interested in keep reading your actual page just left-click (and then you can press back)
but if you *are* interested in keep reading the actual page, before the opening tabs, the focus change is a PITA.
The new tab page is good, but I'd like my search options back on my main page (at least optionally, and maybe editably).
